(1)The molecularmechanism of sexual reproduction of Phytophthora:

Phytophthora is a kind of of destructive plant pathogens worldwide,such as potato late blight, Phytophthorarootrot of soybeanetc. are all caused by Phytophthora. Sexual reproduction of Phytophthoraplays an important role on evolution and continuation of the species. Althoughhormone alpha 1 (Qi JH, Science, 2005) and alpha 2 (Ojika M, Nat. Chem. Biol.,2011) of Phytophthora have been isolated and identified, the molecularmechanism of sexual reproduction of Phytophthora induced by the twohormones is still unclear. Inner Mongolia is one of the main producing areas ofpotato and soybean in China. However, due to the enhanced toxicity and frequentmutation of Phytophthora, potato late blight and Phytophthorarootrotof soybean have occurred frequently,seriously affecting the development of the related industries. Based on theabove situation, the purpose of this work is to study the molecular mechanismof sexual reproduction of Phytophthora with Phytophthora infestansas the research material, which will lay a foundation for the effective controlof potato late blight and other plant disease caused by Phytophthora inthe future.

(2)Research andapplication of myxobacteria in Inner Mongolia:

Myxobacteria are a class of unicellular gram negativebacteria, whose secondary metabolites are the good resources for the screeningof natural drugs. Research shows that climate and vegetation have greatdifferences in the different areas, causing the great differences on thedistribution of myxobacteria. Inner Mongolia is the largest cross longitudearea of China, the distribution of climate, vegetation and so on shows a longitudinalzonality, The purpose of this work ismainly to isolate and identify myxobacteria from the samples collected from Inner Mongolia and analyze their activities resistant to potato late blight and otherdiseases. This research will lay a foundation for the in-depth research of myxobacteriaresources and developing of antibacterial, antifungal, antitumor andthrombolytic drugs.
